Karakorum International Mountain Film Festival launch brings global attention!

KIMFF is going to launch its first mountain film festival officially in Gilgit City from 10th January to 11th January, 2018.

KIMFF will host a number of diverse and unique film screening for everyone to enjoy.

We are engaged in promotion of Tourism, Unique Sports, Winter Sports, Olympics and individual Sports in Pakistan particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan. Mirza Ali & Samina Baig the aspiring Dou founded Pakistan Youth Outreach Foundation, to promote outdoor education, mountaineering, and adventure sports among youth and women in Pakistan. We are looking forward to organize Karakorum International Mountain Film Festival & Climate Change in collaboration with UNDP (United Nation Development program Pakistan) where the country director of UNDP Mr. Ignacio Artaza and other key stakeholders, Force Commander, and government officials will be gracing the event. It will be two days event from 10th- 11th January; where we will be screening mountain adventure documentaries and panel discussions on climate changes and its effect of Society and sustainable tourism in the region, and there will be an interactive session between invited mountaineers and youth on 10th January.

There will be photography Exhibition of Landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan and also will be screening motivational films on 11th January.

The Purpose to the Event is as follow:

  • To Promote the Region Gilgit Baltistan for all season tourism.
  • To engage local mountaineers, outdoor sports activities, and winter Olympics sports.
  • To Encourage Artists, Photographers and Film Makers.
  • To discuss Global warming, Climate Change, and impact on social life on mountainous regions.

“Exploring the program and the stunning Karakoram mountains simultaneously ensures festival-goers can experience the best of the Festival and the region.” KIMFF is supported by the Pakistan youth outreach, and a partnered with UNDP. Over the two-day Festival, filmmakers and film-lovers will converge to enjoy Premiere events, beautiful mountain scenery, in conversation lunches, general screenings, family activities and free community events.
